Lunch Out with Ide Sensei and Aunty Chie

We promised Ide Sensei and his wife long ago to taste Indonesian Food. It's not that Ibu did not want to cook or we were reluctant to invite them to have lunch at our apato, but Ayung Teras is a nice place to hang out and to get good beer for Ide Sensei.

On Saturday, January 14 we met at Yokohama Station at 12.00 and arrived at Shibuya around 12.50. It was a cloudy day and the rain even started to fall when we walked from Shibuya station to the restaurant. Luckily we reserved 6 seats so that we did not have to wait very long.

Ide Sensei and Aunty Chie ordered gulai kambing (mutton curry) and gado-gado (Indonesian salad), nasi goreng ikan asin (salty fish fried rice). Aji and Ibu ordered plecing kangkung, tempe goreng, udang balado and kerupuk udang. Hmmm...we just could not describe to you how tasty-delicious-oishii the food was. Surprisingly Ide Sensei and Aunty Chie enjoyed the gulai kambing with Indonesian rice so much that to their confession they ate more rice than they usually do.

It's the first time for Ide Sensei to taste Indonesian rice and kopi tubruk .Aunty Chie went to Odaiba festival several months ago and had a chance to try out Indonesian food . Moreover, whenever aunty Chie came to our apato to study English, Ibu let her taste the food Ibu cooked.

Unfortunately Ide Sensei had to attend a workshop in Tokyo so that he left the restaurant earlier despite the heavy rain.

Aji, ibu, Wisnu, Akira and Aunty Chie stayed until around 2.30. We had pisang goreng, chocolate cake , strawberry puding for dessert. Aunty Chie said Ide Sensei enjoyed the food very much and wish to go back there!
