Open House

Since we moved into our new apartment, most of aji's friends demanded that we invite them to come. They've been saying that 68,000 yen for 3 LDK is cheap. Yeah right, this is the best price we could afford anyway.

Who are to be invited? first, the MPE gang--including the 2nd and the 1st year. Monday, OCtober 17 we did manage to make them come and have a taste of Indonesian food. We prepared soto ayam, udang, telur puyuh, pete balado and gado-gado plus kolak ubi-pisang-labu kuning. They seemed to like it!!! We actually planned to show off our pepes ikan but we could not find the banana leaf at Bandobashi. To be able to prepare these dish, ibu had to start cooking at 3.30 am and finished exactly at 4 pm. PHEW!!! It's not because it took so much time to cook but ibu still has to attend to Wisnu and Akira's needs. Besides we only have two boiling pans, O-N-E frying pan to cook all those dishes. Anyway, we are happy to do so!

It's Uncle surya from Nepal . Unfortunatley his wife and two lovely daughters could not come because it was raining. Akira took a pose with Uncle Sur. (who knows someday we'd become in law, right?)



We actually inivited around 15 people but only 6 could make it : Surya (Nepal), Mela (Zimbabwe), Suzie (the Philippines), Fauziah (Malaysia), Elsa (Indonesia) , Jack (Mongolia)

The second open house was for akido gang on October 19. Ibu could only prepare green salad, gado-gado, chicken liver fried rice, fusili and kolak. The japanese ate a litte but drank the wine much!
It's their culture to have drink for a party and a little something to eat. Wisnu was so happy because he had them to play with.
